Boehner on House Passage of the Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act

Statement

Date: June 9, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) released the following statement today after House passage of the Permanent Internet Tax Freedom Act (H.R. 235):

"Americans are taxed enough already, and they shouldn't have to worry about facing new taxes on something as important as access to the Internet. The web is a powerful tool that fosters equality, education and opportunity. This bill will help keep it that way and encourage economic growth by permanently shielding families and small businesses from higher costs. I applaud Chairman Goodlatte for his leadership on this issue."
